Leac Na Sith means "Hearthstone of Tranquility"... it could not be a more appropriate name.

From walks, to boat trips, golf, Islands to visit, kayaking, museums, castles and beaches, there is something for everyone. Make sure you visit the newly built bird hide by the pond opposite the shop. There is a village shop and post office a few doors down, plus an excellent butchers behind The Tigh an Truish pub.

Maida's cottage is situated on the edge of the village of Ford, close to Loch Ederline. There is a private driveway to the cottage with a farm gate to keep the sheep on the hill. There is ample parking and a gated/fenced private garden. Although on the edge of the village, Maida's cottage feels remote with a rather stunning backdrop. There are many hills to walk. There is no TV or WiFi, this is a cosy getaway from hectic lives so sit back and enjoy the log fire with a good book.

The cottage was built around 1890 to house the Ploughman for Goatfield Farm, and has been extensively remodelled to create a unique getaway. It is one of the last old residences outside of the main dwellings around the Main House on Ulva. As such there are no neighbours until you reach the tiny community on Gometra - where we live - another three miles down the track.
