I'm less than a one hour drive from Cork, Kilkenny, Dungarvan and Waterford and 40 minutes from Limerick so central. The beautiful Glen of Aherlow is nearby with great walks, cycle trails and horse riding. The castle has great battlements which are accessible at the top of the staircase and host amazing views of the surrounding countryside.
