Riverside Cottage is nestled on the edge of a Whinlatter Forest, overlooking a forest ravine in Thornthwaite. The cottage is close to the Skiddaw mountain range, Go Ape and and Michelin Starred restaurant The Cottage In The Wood. Beautifully renovated, it is light and airy throughout. There are two bedrooms and a family bathroom with shower over bath, a cosy sitting room with a wood burner and super modern kitchen, both with patio doors opening to the large veranda overlooking the tumbling beck.

Welcome to Highside a delightful cottage set in a secluded location overlooking the tranquil village of Lorton. Dating back to 1695 (as engraved on the fireplace in the kitchen), the cottage retains many original features but has been sympathetically modernised. The cottage resides within our farm, Terrace Farm with open countryside and panoramic views of the Lakeland Fells and numerous Wainwrights including Melbreak, Whiteside, Low Fell, Hopegillhead to name but a few.

Located in the Bassenthwaite meadowlands below Skiddaw Mireside Farmhouse is a unique combination of rural tradition and modern comforts. On arrival, first impressions would suggest that Mireside is still a working farm with sheep and cattle grazing the surrounding fields. Inside, the spacious and characterful solid stone 17th century farmhouse has some charming pecularities but is well equipped, warm and comfortable and ideal for families or groups and their pets too.

Set in meadows close to Bassenthwaite Lake The Barn at Mireside was converted in 2016 to a high standard and enjoys the comfort of underfloor heating, two bedrooms, one with an en-suite shower room. Downstairs is open plan with a well equipped kitchen, a wood burner and large glazed window overlooking the cobbled yard. Outside there is a large garden, a sheltered seating area perfect for the afternoon sun, ample parking and a barn for storing bikes and other equipment.

This is for Thorny crag if you would like to book for both for a group of twelve please also book The Byre glamping barn Only accessible by foot 1/2 mile walk. Located on the Dash farmland, remote and secluded with spectacular views onto Skiddaw and Bassenthwaite Lake. The nearest shops are eight miles away.
