This 2024 artifact, the only wooden train, is inspired by her bright coat and the sunflowers that fill the fields outside her windows in their summer season. The train's boho vibe is felt throughout this cozy space ... both inside and out. TO BE inside, enjoying the colorful, eclectic space ... or TO BE outside, admiring the fields from your own rope swing... that is the question! Good things really DO come in small packages!

We’ve got a private bathroom with a shower, this space is perfect for a soothing getaway!

Renovated Train Car Tiny Home Near Smoky Mountains

Hop inside this time capsule dating back to WWII. Platform1346 is a renovated troop train kitchen car that sits on the family's flower farm and is adjacent to the Smoky Mountains. It has been showcased on television on The Design Network's "Tiny Bnb" and websites like the Travel Channel and NBC's Today Show, countless TikTok's, YouTube and IG videos and also news outlets all over the world! This 1943 train car offers a maximized and well designed layout for your relaxing getaway!

Guests staying in the Boxcar have access to the shared amenities of Rassawek Station including the patio “Flat Car” and our Lodge Cabin. Guests also have access to our ponds and 5+ miles of private country roads for hiking, running and biking. The boxcar living area has a sofa and coffee table and small area with table, two chairs and a mini fridge/freezer with a Keurig. The bedroom has a queen bed and dresser and there is a full bathroom with shower, sink and toilet.

#407 Grassy Creek Cabooses

Come spend some time in a real, completely refurbished railroad caboose (with all the modern amenities) just off the Blue Ridge Parkway at Orchard Gap, approximate mile 193.5. Probably the most unique lodging along the Blue Ridge Parkway. We now have disc golf baskets and discs as well as cornhole sets. Pet owners please read the pet policy under additional rules. We DO NOT have any cleaning fees, never have. The service fees are not ours.

This romantic and one-of-a-kind getaway offers a history all its own. Our restored Missouri-Pacific (Mo-Pac) caboose, built in the 1950s, is styled like a classic ’50s diner with cozy vintage charm. Step outside and watch our American bison herd graze and play from the deck. Just down the way, meet our friendly animals—alpacas, llamas, mini horses, mini donkeys, pygmy goats & rabbits.
