Knotts View is located in the centre of Dockray village, in the quieter rural Matterdale valley, high above Ullswater. The local pub is just across the road with it's large garden. Footpaths head off in all directions, offering both high & low level walking. Ideal for two people, this cosy little cottage annexe is near to Cockermouth and is in the Lake District National Park surrounded by views of the Western Fells and views to the Galloway hills of Scotland. 14 miles to the beautiful Lakeland town of Keswick and in close proximity to the Western Lakes of Bassenthwaite, Derwent Water, Buttermere, Ennerdale Water, Crummock Water and Loweswater. A beautiful beach on the Solway Coast is only 12 miles away.

Situated in the Georgian market town of Cockermouth, our charming 2 bedroom property is part of a former Grammar school listed building. Only a few miles from the Lake District National Park and Solway Coastline, Scholars Cottage is superbly situated for you to enjoy the beautiful scenery and some of the best local walking routes during your stay. The Cottage has recently been refurbished to a high standard and we look forward to hosting for you as you explore the Western Lake District.

West view is a luxury property located directly on Nethertown beach. It is in a tranquil area with amazing sea views. It has a dog friendly beach, is great for fishing, has lots of wildlife and has the most stunning sunsets. In winter, enjoy cosy evenings with the fire lit. An ideal base for exploring the Western Lake District and Cumbrian Coast. It is surrounded by scenic walks and activities. It is close to St Bees coast to coast walk too. Please note- We no longer have a hot tub.

The perfect romantic retreat, Swallows Rest, is a converted 18th century hay barn. Belonging to the 17th century Grade II listed High Greenrigg House, it offers all the modern conveniences whilst retaining the character of such an historic building. The ground floor contains an open plan living room, dining area and fully fitted kitchen. There is a utility room accessed via a low stone doorframe. Upstairs is a mezzanine floor with king size bed, balcony and luxurious shower room

Relax at this peaceful place to stay in the Western Lake District. There are plenty of lovely walks from the doorstep. The King George pub is only a minute walk away, serving lovely home cooked food and real ale. The Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway, known locally as “La’al Ratty” is only a ten minute walk from the cottage. Eskdale Stores is open daily. The cottage itself has been recently renovated and has a secure garden with lovely views, ideal dogs.
