O tranquilo Refugio da Maceira está localizado na Serra de Marvão, entre as áreas verdes do Parque Natural da Serra de São Mamede. As ruínas da cidade romana de Ammaia estão apenas a 6 km da unidade e são um marco nacional. A casa em estilo rústico tem 2 quartos e inclui uma casa de banho privativa. A unidade tem uma decoração tradicional, com várias peças de cerâmica e camas em ferro fundido. A sala de estar tem sofás e inclui uma lareira com recuperador de calor. Os hóspedes podem preparar refeições nas comodidades para churrasco ao ar livre, apreciando as suas refeições na sala de jantar da casa. Supermercado, Farmácia e vários restaurantes locais estão disponíveis a cerca de 10 minutos de carro. Portalegre está a 20 km e dispõe de um popular centro histórico. Castelo de Vide fica a 8 km.
