An historic free-standing building on our 12 acre property "Claremont" (c.1857), the Garden Cottage has been fully renovated to offer a unique place to stay in beautiful, peaceful and historic surroundings. The accommodation is totally private, with a queen bed, en suite bathroom and basic food preparation facilities (fridge, microwave, toaster and kettle). It has a split system for heating and cooling. The Garden Cottage is approx. 3.4 km to the heart of Castlemaine township, and is only a short walk to the lovely Botanical Gardens.

The centre of town, including the Castlemaine train station and a fantastic selection of cafes, restaurants and cultural attractions, is just a 15-minute walk.

Enjoy fabulous views to the east from the lounge, bedroom and your private balcony across the town to Leanganook.

Union House is a unique part of Castlemaine's history. Built in the early 1860's in the central area of the town, it is a minutes walk from all the town's attractions- the galleries, restaurants, hotels, theatre, boutiques, supermarket, and easy walking distance to the gardens, regional parks, railway station, and the Woollen Mill complex. Excellent walking and mountain bike riding are at your doorstep or just relax at the hut and enjoy the garden, pool and sauna. In the heart of the Goldfields region there is plenty to explore including outdoor activities, the arts, festivals, historical sites and great cafes, restaurants and wineries.
