The Nissen

The Nissen is a spacious, light filled two bedroom holiday house overlooking the historic town of Castlemaine, aptly named for its resemblance to a World War II Nissen Hut. Wonderfully private and secluded considering its convenient central location, and featuring all modern appliances. Lady Marmalade is a super cosy, luxury retreat with 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms & views across to the Daylesford Convent & Wombat Hill. Main street's restaurants, cafes, bars & shops are a 5-7 minute walk away while Lake Daylesford is 10-12 minutes. She has an oversized en-suite with stand-alone spa & Aurora Day Spa products. A log fire, A/C, ducted heating, well equipped country kitchen, free WiFi, Bluetooth sound system, Streaming, large screen TV, record player, vinyls & board games to play.

Retro couple's retreat with sauna and plunge pool

Remember when Airbnb was actually staying in people's homes and that was fun? But rarely this fun. Our place has a stone sauna, big cold-plunge with deck chairs, a huge deck, 'sky bath', beautiful outside dinner table, ping-pong and homemade chess set. Inside, an LED four-poster bed and massage table. You're so close to nature walks and the cultural centre of Castlemaine with its music venues and art spaces. Up to 2 well behaved dogs welcome - but add each dog when booking. No cats, sorry.

Country 3 bedroom home, games entertainment barn.

Bring the whole family to this great place with lots of room for fun. Fantastic 3 bedroom home with awesome views of Mount Alexander and surrounds. Plenty of room with a large living room, wood fire, tv / entertainment system, kitchen, deck including entertaining area and bbq downstairs. Upstairs there is another lounge / study, bedroom and toilet. The barn is another entertainment area with a pool table, table tennis, darts, library and a large screen tv all heated and air conditioned.

This self-contained studio on Dja Dja Wurrung Country is tucked below our house. It's a totally separate and private space, air conditioned, double glazed and with its own off-street parking and access. It is within walking distance to the town centre, The Mill Complex, The Bridge Hotel and the Botanic Gardens; and just a 7 min walk up the hill from the railway station. Enjoy fabulous views to the east from the lounge, bedroom and your private balcony across the town to Leanganook.

Union House c.1861

Union House is a unique part of Castlemaine's history. Built in the early 1860's in the central area of the town, it is a minutes walk from all the town's attractions- the galleries, restaurants, hotels, theatre, boutiques, supermarket, and easy walking distance to the gardens, regional parks, railway station, and the Woollen Mill complex. The cottage has been recently renovated to amalgamate its historic features with contemporary comforts and luxurious appointments.

A walking track is at the door for a lovely walk to Wesley hill Saturday market or continue on to explore nearby Castlemaine with it's wonderful Architecture and vibrant café and arts culture. Red Brick Barn is an eclectic mix of European and Early Australian antiques, including French Industrial Furniture and Lighting, Turkish Kilims from Anatolia and rare "Depression" pieces.
