Fall asleep to the sound of the leiwater cobbling past your villa at night.

Situated in the Groenfontein Valley just outside Calitzdorp in the Klein Karoo, this cottage offers a peaceful countryside stay with views of the Swartberg Mountains, minutes from the Calitzdorp wine route and Route 62. Designed for quiet evenings, warm fires, and slow days without a plan. Guests often underestimate how easily time slips by here — two nights quickly turn into a wish for a third. Whether by the fire inside or under the stars outside, this is a stay measured in days, not hours.

The Hares Lair

The Hares Lair is a unique home, Hobit style, tucked away, private and almost unseen. You enter through the big round door to it's amazing space. It has every self catering facility. There is a large living space with it's warming cast iron fire, bathroom with shower and a braai on the stoop with views of The Red Stone Hills. This is the next chapter of the great race, the son of the losing hare challenges the son of the winning tortoise. Stay in it and read the story. We are pet friendly.

Children are welcome, making it an ideal getaway for a family, or for 2 couples travelling together. Aircon, swimming pool and braai facilities, fireplace for winter. Electricity is solar-powered and grid. Two double en-suites make it comfortable, an additional suite available [Acacia Annexe, book separately]. North facing verandah for afternoon sunsets.

Oasis Cottage is an authentic self-catering retreat in the peaceful town of Merweville, in the heart of the Great Karoo. This little cottage has a relaxed, Greek-inspired outside feel and sleeps up to 5 guests in 2 bedrooms. Enjoy a well-equipped kitchen, homely lounge with a red piano, free Wi-Fi, and shaded parking. Outdoor spaces include a patio with hammock, braai, pizza oven, and outdoor beds for resting by day or stargazing under the incredible Karoo stars.

Long weekend escape for nature lovers on a Game and Nature Reserved, surrounded by untouched beauty and wild animals. Completely off the grid, powered by solar and gas. Our house is easily accessible from Route62. The facilities are excellent. The house is privately located, and offers an indoor fireplace, braai facilities, a plunge pool and a stoep for bird viewing. It sleeps four, ideally two adults with young children or for a romantic get-away for two.

Raka

Raka is a newly renovated karoo cottage situated in the middle of Sutherland and close to all amenities. Raka features two double rooms with percale linen and a family bathroom. The kitchen boasts a coal stove and the living area has a Queen Anne coal stove for the cold nights. There are safe undercover parking and backup lights in case of loadshedding.
