Snæfelsnes peninsula road is close by. Natural hot springs, Viking home of Erik the Red and his son Leif the Lucky who discovered America and the Leif Eiriksson Center all in the area. Háafell Lodge

Welcome to Háafell Farm where we raise sheep, keep horses and have one friendly dog. Our private guest house is located 200 meters above the farm, up the mountain at 130 meters above sea level. It is a recently built (2020), 100 square meter, modern “turf house style” house. Háafell means “The High Mountain” and has a long river that cascades down its side with several tiers of waterfalls. It is a five minute walk to our canyon and it is possible to take a cold bath in one of the waterfalls.

The cottages at Thurranes are 43 square meters. Two bedrooms, each with a double bed and a sleeping loft that fits 2 adults. The house can accommodate 6 adults. Bed linen and towels are included in the price. The house is equipped with a kitchen, where you find a little stove, a sink, a microwave and refrigerator. The living room has a couch and a small TV set. A small bathroom with a shower. Hot water, central heating but no WiFi A private hot tub, chairs and a gas BBQ are on the deck.

During winter our house offers exceptional view of the aurora borealis and during summer, the midnight sun is beautiful over the bay.

Nearby are two famous Cathedral of the elves, Tungustapi and Ásgarðsstapi. There is only 5 minutes drive to the geothermar pool Guðrúnarlaug where you can bathe. The working farm Nedri-Hundadalur is located 120 km west of Reykjavik. We are in the center of Snæfellsnes, Borgarfjörður and West fjords. We offer a camper suite, with kitchen and wc. Outside the camper is a hot tub, you can use, just let us know if you want. The sleeping space is for 4 slit to two grown ups and two children. The environment is beautiful and peaceful.
