It is 20 kms from Ballarat and Sovereign Hill and 25kms from Daylesford and Hepburn Springs. It is close to town. You can walk to the supermarket, patisserie, 2 hotels, the wine bar, museum and the other amenities. The walking track goes to St George’s lake in the Wombat Forest. There are many birds; cockatoos, rosellas, kookaburras in the garden.

The Raglan Cottage is one of two cottages listed on this Airbnb site. “The Raglan” and “The Jamieson Cottage” were originally part of the first Cobb and Co staging station and booking office, which operated on this site from 1858 until 1877. Both cottages lie at the rear of the former Jamieson Hotel, which was built by American prospector and entrepreneur Henry Jamieson in 1858. The ground floor of this building also houses Sakana Restaurant (formerly Kazukis) and EKO Skin Care Spa.

Named after the Gububurras (Kookaburras) that share the property with us, it's only ten minutes walk to the Mount Macedon village for coffee or a short drive to find wineries, village markets and forest walking trails. The Cottage @ Hedges is an easy 10 minute drive from the centre of Ballarat. The cottage sits within a pretty country garden about 20 metres from my home on a small rural property. Close to parklands, Lake Wendouree, art galleries, wineries and lots of great cafes and restaurants. The Ballarat-Skipton Railtrail is just 300 metres away - perfect for quiet country walks and cyclists. It is comfortable inside and out with plenty of shady spots to sit in the garden.
