The area is renowned for its water activities which include fishing, boating, sailing and scuba diving.Hill walking trails and cycling are also very popular.

Blackrock Point, Lough Derg

Set overlooking Lough Derg, the house is available Saturday to Saturday (7 day min stay), May through September. Whether it’s fishing or waterskiing, it’s all here to be found on Ireland's pleasure lake. Recently the house was the key feature in an article looking at stunning Irish Airbnbs. Built in the late 1400s, Grantstown Castle has been lovingly restored and mixes medieval architecture with modern comforts. The Castle Is Rented In Its Entirety and caters for up to Seven Guests. The castle is comprised of six floors, connected via a stone and oak spiral staircase. There are three double bedrooms and one single. The castle has great battlements which are accessible at the top of the staircase and host amazing views of the surrounding countryside.
