Our charming shepherds' huts sit in the old orchard of our farm in the village of Bowness on Solway, Cumbria. The site is named 'The Garrison' as it sits on the remains of the former Roman fort of Maia, a world heritage site at the end of Hadrian's Wall. Bowness itself is in an area of outstanding natural beauty sitting on the Solway Estuary which separates England from South West Scotland. We are 40 minutes from the Lake District and 20 minutes from the historic city of Carlisle.

Archie is a charming bespoke shepherd’s hut, set in its own garden space at the top of our shared garden area. Archie offers a nostalgic space for unwinding, there’s only Archie - no other pods or huts near you. Facing southwest there are lovely views. Archie has a double bed, en-suite shower room and toilet, kitchen area with hob,microwave, fridge, fold out dining table and underfloor heating to keep it cosy. Additionally outside there’s a kitchen area, bbq , firepit & seating.

Located less than 10 minutes from Lake District National Park. Easy driving distance to Keswick, Cockermouth and Solway Coast (Hadrian’s wall). The pod is perfect for walkers and cyclists who wish to explore the local footpaths and country lanes. Local town is less than a 5 minute drive away! Our peaceful glamping pod near Wigton, Cumbria is ideally located for the Tour de France UK stages in July 2027, with Carlisle and the Lake District stages within easy reach.

Skidded View Camping Pod Comes with a king size bed that can also be used as two singles. It also has a sink with running hot and cold water and numerous electrical points. Heaters provided. Kettle, toaster, microwave and small fridge freezer also provided for your convenience. Toilet and shower block located only ten metres away from the pods. Parking outside each pod. Fire pits included. Well behaved dogs welcome but not to be left in the pod unsupervised.

With an enclosed veranda with comfy seating at the front, you can enjoy sunrises and sunsets every day of your stay.
