Built in 1759 and situated in its own grounds on a former part of the Craigiehall Estate, it's Grade A listed for its stunning portico displaying the arms of the 1st Marquess of Annandale. A plaque on the wall carries a quote from Horace: "Dum Iicet in rebus jucundis vive beatus", "Live happy while you can among joyful things". We hope that a stay at the Temple will deliver this experience and stay true to this vision.

Our house is right at the heart of Edinburgh's fashionable New Town with all that the city has to offer right on your door step. Set over three floors with lots of space the house is the perfect venue for a relaxed vacation experience for families, large groups and business travellers alike. All the rooms at Mitchells have been finished to a high specification. A gentle palette of colours compliments the original period features which are offset by striking pieces of contemporary furniture.
