Join us for a day at the sanctuary and meet a variety of rescued farm animals. We'll share their stories of resilience and healing and talk a bit more about the industries they come from. You'll love meeting our animal ambassadors and may be surprised at what you learn, since we so rarely see the animals in our food system.
The Experience will last approximately 1 1/2 to 2 hours. Please be mindful that as a sanctuary for rescued animals, our priority is the physical and emotional well being of the rescued animals who call Charlie's Acres home.
Our loved animal residents are completely free and always have a choice as to whether or not they want to interact with visitors and will reside at the sanctuary for the rest of their lives, where we'll have the honor of taking care of them.
COVID19 safety protocols
We are taking the safety of our community very seriously. Face coverings are mandatory for ALL visitors and tour guides. If you have children who are too young to wear a mask, please book a private experience. Hand sanitizer is available at check-in and throughout the tour path. Shared spaces, such as bathrooms are sanitized regularly. Check-in areas and tours pathways have been adjusted to avoid indoor areas. As the tour is outdoors in open spaces, you'll be able to easily socially distance, just stay close enough to hear instructions from your tour guide.

On this half-mile walking tour we'll visit the pastures our animal residents call home. Whether it's rubbing a pig's belly, snuggling a turkey, feeding a cow, or running with goats, our experience provides plenty of opportunities to interact with friendly, happy animals.

- Booked a private group for a tour. There were sinks available for handwashing, and social distancing was observed for the outdoors tour. Got to meet a lot of sweethearts, pet a few, and learn about their stories. The location was beautiful, and the animals were all happy and very well cared for.
- My partner and I loved this experience. Having worked at a no-kill animal shelter before and being vegans, we have a lot of compassion for animals, so it's heartwarming to see how much attention Charlie's Acres puts into caring for their residents. It was very fun to hear the different backstories of how the animals came to the sanctuary and to see them thrive. We saw sheep, goats, roosters, hens, cows, turkeys, pigs, ducks, and horses! Some of the animals we saw from afar (some of the goats / pigs / ducks), some of the animals we saw in their enclosures (goats, turkeys, pigs), and the rest behind a fence, but still close enough to pet (horses + cows). Part of this experience involves feeding cows grass, so much fun and so cute :)
- As a travel nurse working the front line, this was a nice break. It was relaxing to be outside and interacting with the animals in a peaceful setting. Our tour guide, Kayleigh made sure I felt included as I was solo on Valentines Day among all the happy couples 😊. Also, I learned much about the animals and their stories. I highly recommend the tour.
- We spent Valentine’s Day at the animal sanctuary and it was just perfect; what a special place! We weren’t sure if we were going to be able to make the scheduled time, but Kaleigh made special arrangements so that it could work. I highly recommend this outing to anyone who loves animals.
