Our house, a refurbished ‘colonica’ immersed in the quiet green hills surrounding Florence, offers the perfect location for those who wish to dedicate a day to art and good food. We will start the day getting to know each other round a light breakfast and a warm beverage. You will then head to the kitchen where, Giovanna will teach you the ‘know hows’ of traditional Tuscan cuisine. Picking from numerous simple yet delicious recipes, you will help her prepare the meal for the day. Then you can get your hands dirty in Matteo sculpture studio, where together we will decide which technique to learn, be it metal welding, clay modeling, mold making or other… You will leave with a recipe to replicate at wish, a full belly and a memento of your hard crafting work.
Our family is composed of five members: our children, Luca and Bianca, our funny little dog Tobia, and the two of us, Giovanna and Matteo. Giovanna, in life a professional couple consultant, comes from a family of cooks and food lovers. She has always kept the tradition alive and in the past has had several experiences in catering. Now she would love to share her cooking knowledge. Matteo is a full-time art sculptor. After the academy in Florence, he moved to London, and graduated in contemporary arts. His fascination for Crafts has led him to learn a wide variety of techniques.
