This journey will bring you to realize how exploring new places is a complementary activity to the practice of meditation. Living in Downtown LA, I have discovered many of its hidden gems, and I want to share my special world with you. We will start the tour at one of my favorite places, Bohemian House of Espresso + Chai, where I will introduce you to one of the best fresh chais I have ever tasted since visiting India. While we enjoy our tea, I will explain the meaning of meditation, and prepare us to continue our walk towards The Last Book Store, a unique and exceptional place, where we will practice meditation and explore the book collection– including the books used to create art! Next, we will continue our walk towards the Jewelry District, where we will meditate in the middle of the chaos, while we admire exhibitions of precious stones. Then, we will make our way to a private rooftop, the final stop on our Meditate at the Top of LA tour. Here we will enjoy the view of LA, and meditate above the city, as a metaphor for our mind's ability to see beyond our thoughts and to appreciate the beauty of life on earth.
In 2007, I left the advertising world in Colombia to become a Life Coach and Meditation teacher. I run my own business in Los Angeles, in which I inspire and teach people from all paths of life how to bring meditation into their daily lives, while living in the middle of the chaos. I started this journey from a young age, reading books about Tibetan Buddhism, until I flew to the Himalayas to study meditation and philosophy for three years in a Buddhist monastery. This was just the beginning of a long journey. Living in a monastery community was easy for me, but bringing the teachings to daily life in the West has presented challenges that have helped me to continue learning so much on my own. In this journey of bringing traditional teachings to daily modern life, I became a life coach, went to Thailand to study more about Buddhism.
Our meditation journey starts with a chai tea latte, a fresh and flavorful drink made of milk and spices, which may include…
We will visit 4 places in Downtown Los Angeles: Bohemian House of Espresso which has one of the best chais I have ever tasted outside of India; The Jewelry District, which contains the perfect combination of beauty and chaos; The Last Book Store, which is just an amazing place where history and art get together; and a private rooftop, which is a beautiful place to have a view of DTLA and to reconnect with that infinite openness that resides in us
