The start and finish point for my runs is usually Puerta del Sol. This is for ease of access as all roads and transport options lead there. I´m happy to meet you at your hotel and start from their either, just get in touch and we can arrange the most convenient option. I always try to fit in as many classic sights and lesser known ones too (that only locals know) during our run but some highlights not to be missed will be the Royal Palace, Gran Via, Plaza Mayor, Retiro Park and the Cibeles Fountain and Palace of Communications. I´ll leave the more secret spots for the day we run!
After many years travelling, working and generally running around the world as a Tour Leader, Madrid is where I now call home and whilst I´ve laid off the travelling for a bit I have no intention to stop the running. Let me take your through the best of the city´s sights while getting in some exercise, at a pace you desire and a flavour all my own. Madrid is perfect for runners and add to that the wealth of culture, architecture and history to be seen, there really is no better way to see it. Born and reared in Ireland but now a native of wonderful Madrid, I wouldn´t rather be anywhere else.
I´m always happy to finish our run with a hot or cold drink depending on the time of year and your preference. With seemingly…
From Madrids beating heart, the Puerta del Sol, to Plaza Mayor, the Royal Palace and Royal Theatre, Plaza de España, Gran Via , Palace of Communications, Alcala Gate and Retiro Park, the Crystal Palace and Prado Museum, Barrio de Las Letras and more
Just come ready to run and ready to explore Madrid
There will be water fountains along the route but if you are used to running with a bottle for drinking please do bring one. Most people like to bring their phone as we´ll be passing and stopping at some incredible photo opportunities. Besides that, you´re set, let´s run and see some of this place!
