In this experience, you can get away from the classic tourist circuit. We are going to explore the beautiful Roman district of Garbatella. With a sketchbook, some pens, and watercolors, we’ll create a small travel sketchbook journal during a three-hour walk. First, we will get to know each other over a good coffee and croissant, and then I'll give you your sketching set and some technical information. We’ll explore the neighborhood and stop at the most interesting places to draw. Of course, I’ll be there to give you advice and technical tips to help you in sketching. You don't need to be an expert to participate. This activity is open to everyone who wants to have a fun and creative experience.

A sketching kit The kit includes an accordion-fold sketchbook, watercolors, brush, pens, and pencils.
We will meet at the Garbatella Metro Station. We'll take a five-minute walk to the Garbatella District, a 1920s working class neighborhood inspired by the English concept of "Garden City." Garbatella is a maze of courtyards, each one with its own gardens, squares, stairs, balconies, and fountains. You'll discover the decadent charm of its small houses built with the refinement and preciousness that other Roman suburbs don't have.
in case of rain, I will take you to draw in the beautiful museum "Central Martini" close to Garbatella. This museum is an old power station in which are exposed ancient Roman sculptures. The combination of the dark gray cast iron machines and the whiteness of marble sculptures is spectacular! There will be an additional cost for the museum entrance. If you are interested to schedule a day or time that is not on the calendar please just send me a message and I'll do my best to accommodate you. Private groups and family tours are available upon request
