Snowshoeing is not just a daytime activity, in fact – some say that snowshoeing at night is actually way more fun and also way less busy than during the day. Why not add to the experience by enjoying the city view below while sipping artisan hot cocoa on a snow-chair you built yourself? Dog Mountain Trail is a short, easy snowshoe that offers a spectacular view of Vancouver on a clear day or during a weather inversion. While the trail has minimal elevation gain and is only about 5 km return, it should be noted that the path is a bit more technical, requiring careful steps along several snow-covered sections. There are well-marked, BC Parks trails that are easy to follow with a headlamp. So join me for an adventure!

Artisan Spiced Hot Cocoa
We meet at the at the top of Mt. Seymour, strap on our snowshoes & head into the trail head just 20 meters past the ski hill. At 1.1km, we arrive at First Lake & then it's just over 1km to Dog Mountain. At the peak we make our way out of the forest & take in the stunning view of N. Vancouver, Lions Gate Bridge & downtown Vancouver. Finally, we head back to the lake to warm around our snow-carved table before heading back to the lodge.
