These days, we can find sake all over the world, but it's not always good sake. The same can be said about okonomiyaki, which are Japanese savory pancakes that are delicious when paired with a good sake. I’ll show you how to make Hiroshima style okonomiyaki. You’ll also be able to taste five different sakes—which I have found around Japan—to see which one you prefer to drink with your okonomiyaki. With your new knowledge, you will be an okonomiyaki master and Japanese sake lover.
I’ve been an Airbnb host for a few years now, and my guests frequently ask me about my favorite Japanese food. My most popular answer is Hiroshima style okonomiyaki—a dish I love, especially when paired with Japanese sake. I often travel in Japan to find different sakes, and I taste it every night, sometimes with a Japanese meal. I would love to show you how to make one of Japan’s favorite foods, with sake, of course.
Sake I will provide five kinds of sake.
We’ll be making Okonomiyaki at a workshop in my home, which is around a five-minute walk from Meguro Station.
