Nowadays camera equipment is becoming more and more complicated, with all the knobs, dials, buttons and widgets on a camera, it’s easy to feel incredibly intimidated, and that’s before we even get into the pages of in-camera menus. BUT DO NOT FEAR! Regardless of the equipment involved every photograph is based on the same basic principles, and this is great news. My aim over the corse of the workshop is to demystify your camera and help you turn it into a tool you can use to develop the type of images you want to produce. We’ll start with a coffee and take some time to get to know each other discussing the 3 images you’ve brung along with you. I’ll talk you through some camera basics as well as some analogies that I have found incredibly useful for understanding both why the camera behaves in certain ways, and how to manipulate it to get the results you want. Once we’ve gone over this we’ll head out to make some visual magic! Whether on the colourful urban streets of Shoreditch, or the trendy bustle of soho we’ll have plenty opportunity to practice what we’ve leared & you’ll be surprised just how quickly you begin to see improved results! I’m a professional photographer with 18 years experience behind the lens, beginning with 35mm film and teaching myself from the ground up. After a few years of shooting weddings around Europe I discovered my love for street photography and the challenges it presents. It is through street photography that I have won international competitions, had my work exhibited in a number of exhibitions and was picked up by Nikon UK as a social influencer. I love photography and I’m passionate about helping people overcome all the fiddly bits, so that they can enjoy the experience of photography
Whether the visually rich colourful streets of Shoreditch with all of it’s iconic graffiti, the crowded cultural melting pot that is Soho or the ever engaging and memorable Southbank with all it’s iconic London Landmarks there will be no shortage of visual inspiration as we walk around putting what we’ve learned into practice. Whichever area we meet each workshop will be peppered with stops at some of the best coffee shops London has to offer

Wear warm comfortable walking shoes & don't turn up with all your gear, travel light! Bring one camera and one or two lenses. I recommend 35mm or 50mm. A good wind/waterproof jacket is always smart.
