**Resuming this hike experience as a day or night hike as of Nov 2018!** Discover the wilder side of Hong Kong on this short but challenging hike through Lion Rock Country Park and up to the 'head' of the Lion. After a steep ascent up the rocky trail, we are rewarded with stunning 360 degree views of Hong Kong - from the New Territories, over densely populated Kowloon and right across the harbour to Hong Kong and Lantau Islands. Photography enthusiasts can get some phenomenal shots - remember to bring a tripod for night photography! From the trail head, we ascend the steeply, taking our time to catch our breath and enjoy the views. Once we reach the top, there will be plenty of time to have a drink and a snack and get some great shots of the city. The total distance for this hike is 6.5kms (4 miles) which will bring us to a maximum elevation of 495m (1600 feet).
I am an enthusiastic hiker and trail runner, passionate about the beautiful Hong Kong countryside. I live and breath the trails, mountains and landscapes that this city has to offer. I am an experienced hike leader, having lead a variety of hikes for 4+ years now. I never get bored of standing on a peak and looking down to see the city humming below me. There are very few places in the world where the urban and natural environments collide like they do in Hong Kong, and I love showing my guests that there is much more to this city than just skyscrapers and shopping malls.

Lion Rock is one of the most emblematic locations in Hong Kong. Forming part of the Kowloon hills which divide the Kowloon peninsula from the New Territories, the Lion's head watches over one of the most densely populated cities on earth. Lion Rock is one of the best locations in Hong Kong to witness the dramatic divide between the untamed countryside and the high-rise concrete jungle. At night, it offers jaw-dropping views of the city lights.
