Guests can try husking the coconut, removing it's flesh and grating it traditionally. The next step will be mixing the coconut with coconut water and warm water and then squeeze them to separate it's juice from the flesh. Then they are ready for the boiling process. Boiling process takes about 45 minutes until the raw oil coming up and separated from the rest of the mixture. Cool it down before we take that oil by siut (traditional ladle). Final step would be cooking/ frying the raw oil to get clean oil ready for use. The leftover of the mixture is good for food and soup.
I grew up in a coconut field and my whole family was running coconut business that includes trading traditionally made coconut oil. Lately we do this activity as a guest attraction to provide alternative unique experience for tourists and conserving our tradition. At the same time try to provoke everyone to live a healthy life by using naturally processed products such as coconut oil. We do this activity at a Balinese house with it's traditional Balinese kitchen using fire wood to cook. We invite guests to engage and get involve in the making process to get a true experience.
It is a one and only experience where you engage with a Balinese family with their activity (making coconut oil).
最多可有4位年满16周岁的参与者参加。家长也可携带2岁以下的儿童参加。 There are two dogs in the house, but they are friendly.
