Meeting in the centre of Salisbury we will begin our walk taking in the famous cathedral before heading North past the ancient settlement of Old Sarum before heading out in to the beautiful rural countryside and along the Woodford valley to a local pub for a light lunch. We then continue on up the stunning local valley catching our first glimpses of Stonehenge in the distance. As we approach the World Heritage site we can appreciate it's magnificence amongst it's rural setting. We then have the afternoon to explore Stonehenge before taking the bus back at your leisure to Salisbury.
For the past 30 years I have been fortunate enough to travel the world as part of my job. I have lived and worked in Italy, Belize and Chile and for the past 20 years worked as an Adventure Travel Guide leading cycle and trekking trips around the world. When travelling I would always seek out the local experience to really get to know a country. Now I would like to bring it back home and share my passion for the great outdoors and my love of the local Wiltshire countryside with all those exploring the UK.
Starting at the magnificent Salisbury Cathedral we pass the original settlement of Salisbury at Old Sarum before continuing up the stunning Woodford valley stopping at a local pub en-route for refreshments. Revived from our stop we carrying on to our final destination of Stonehenge. Our approach permits great views of the Stones and an opportunity to explore the World Heritage Site before taking the bus back to Salisbury at your leisure.
