In this class I will teach you how to make Japanese souffle pancakes from scratch. Japanese souffle pancakes are a light, fluffy, mouthwatering treat that are served in cafes all over Japan. These pancakes are a fun addition your breakfast, brunch or dessert repertoire. Since making these pancakes can be tricky, we will make the pancakes one at a time to practice and I will teach you all the tips you need to make the perfect pancakes. In total we will make 2 fluffy pancakes.
Please note: in order to meet Airbnb quality standards to keep class sizes small (no more than 10 participants per public class), guests should book one spot for each person who will be participating in the experience and not have multiple people participate per device/location. If you have multiple people who will participate from a single device/location, please book a spot for each of them.

I was born and raised in a rural community in southern Japan and have been passionate about cooking from a very young age. As is common in Japan, I grew up in a home with three generations and spent all my time with my grandmother in the kitchen. She taught me everything I know about cooking.

- Fun class and great teacher! I have never made a soufflé, so this was all new for me. Chef Kenji made it so easy to follow and even gave us personalized tips for improving our second pancake. It really does take 1.5 hours to make two, so it’s not your standard American pancake! I need some more practice now, but I feel confident I could try these again with Chef Kenji’s detailed instructions. Thank you for a fun afternoon!
- Kenji was such an engaging and wonderful host. So patient with our group, he provided very clear instructions and alternative tool options when we needed them. Our group had such a great time making super yummy Soufflé Pancakes! All of our families are now looking forward to us making the pancakes for them now!
