What we'll do: I welcome you in an absolutely unique setting in my colonial villa on the edge of Santa Teresa. Coming to my place will already be an experience by itself. After your arrival I offer you a little snack and some drinks to refresh yourself while giving you a short introduction to the influences that shaped Brazilian cuisine and an overview of what we will prepare. Then we jump into our course and learn the most important thing: how to make Caipirinha (I have 20+y experience!). Next we form "teams", each of which will prepare one dish. While we cook, we will listen to MPB, Brazilian Popular Music. When everything is ready we enjoy our food in the patio under the centenarian mango tree.
I LOVE FOOD! I love to try everything and to prepare meals for fellow foodies. I am a world traveller. I love to discover a culture through it's food. And I am an idealist. I want to leave the world a better place than I found it. Vegan cuisine is a colorful, delicious way to be a part of the solution and to heal your body, mind and soul. But it's better to know a few things about ingredients and their use. This is why I open my outside kitchen for you and share my knowledge about how to prepare delicious food, the influences on Brazilian cuisine as well as my best vegan Brazilian recipe
We will have a complete menu. Let me know beforehand if you have any allergy, sensitivenes or you don't like certain foods.
We will have infused water and water kefir, Caipirinha and Brazilian Wine
I have an apron for you, and off course all the kitchen equipment we will need.
The cooking class will take place in the colonial Villa from 1897 where I live and offer hospitality through Airbnb. I transformed the former wash house in the backyard into an open air kitchen. In front of it I have a patio under the mango tree which was planted "by accident" around 100 years ago and is now 20+ meters high. We'll eat there. The Villetta is a incredibly peaceful place and my green refuge from the chaotic city out there.
