If you get bored just sightseeing in Tokyo, join us. This activity involves being a clean-up volunteer, I know it is not too exciting, but we will walk around local spots together and talk about Japanese culture. We'll pick up cigarettes and small garbage only. After that, we'll go to a park nearby to have a homemade picnic lunch, and we'll enjoy the meal together.
Your hosts are Etsuko and Miyoko. We became clean-up volunteers for social good over a year ago. We realized that we can share this experience with more people. Miyoko knows a lot about Japanese culture. We had a big earthquake in 2011—most of the damaged areas are not yet fully recovered, and some people still don't have a safe house to live in. What can we do for them? We will donate part of your participation fee to Fukushima. If you join this experience, you can get to volunteer, do local sightseeing, eat homemade lunch, and be a part of donation.
Light meal for lunch
We'll meet at Shinjuku Station, then walk and clean up for 40 minutes. We'll visit Hanazono Shrine and go to Shinjuku Gyoen—the big park—and have lunch together.
Please bring your own drink, and pay your own the park entrance fee. This experience cannot be conducted if it rains—I will send you a message if we can or cannot before 8 AM on the day.
