We will navigate on a beautiful sailing boat, from the shore of Torre Annunziata (few kms from Pompeii), with the vulcano Vesuvius and the island of Capri in front of us. The experience will combine sailing and an historical explanation of ancient facts during the navigation! Why? Because having a point of view from the sea will help us to better understand the geological and historical effects that the Vesuvius eruptions had on Pompeii and other ancient cities. Also, Naples and the nearby towns were part of "Great Greece" so, being on a boat, will allow us to experience what the first colonists saw when they approached this area from the sea. Last but not least, sailing in front of the volcano and in front of Capri is always a magical experience!
We are a team of three people: Me (official tourist guide and art historian), Alessandro (sailor and friend) and Cristina (the "second hand"). As tourist guide and skipper (my friend), we want you to join our experience because it is something that is totally new to our territory! With this experience we want to have the minimal impact on our territory, so that is why we decided to use this mode of transportation which is silent, has zero impact on the surroundings and that creates a great connection with the landscape.

We will leave the port of Torre Annunziata (the old Oplontis, where Poppea, second wife of the Emperor Nero used to live). We will navigate direction Castellamare di Stabia (the ancient Stabiae), having the Vesuvio at the back and Capri in the front. Then, we will navigate direction Herculaneum.
