We will meet you in the town square of Greve in Chianti and walk up to up house, about 2km away. After having a coffee we will take a gentle stroll (about 2km) up to Montefioralle, a fortified village dating from the 10th century. From here we walk about 700 metres down to my lovely country house where we will have lunch outdoors in the garden and spend the rest of our time together sharing stories and eating a wonderful two course meal lovingly prepared at home. Finally, we walk back down to Greve through the woods, taking a little detour through my olive grove, and I see you off back on the bus to Florence. For this experience you will need comfortable walking shoes or boots and be willing and able to walk over rough ground! The total kilometres walked will be about 5.
Julia & Giovanni
Giovanni is a native Grevigiana, born into a household of professional cooks. He learnt his skills through observing and eating. Julia has lived in Montefioralle for almost 30 years and for most of those years has worked either in hospitality or wineries conducting wine tours and tastings.
