For this two hour tour of Grand Central and surrounding area I will show you the secret wonders of Midtown. We'll talk to walls in a whispering gallery, see skyscrapers inspired by Italian trash cans, and discuss secret railroad platforms that hosted both FDR and Andy Warhol. Along the walk we will see the following landmarks among many others. - Bryant Park - Empire State Building - New York Public Library - Grand Central Terminal (inside and out!) - Chrysler Building - Pan Am Building - Park Avenue - Waldorf Astoria - St. Patrick's Cathedral - Rockefeller Center We’ll see beautiful architecture, learn about some of the most famous landmarks of New York, and get amazing views of the city!
I've been a New York City tour guide for 8 years now and I've loved every minute of it! I lead tours everywhere from abandoned military bases to historic parks to the cobble stoned streets of old New York. My tours are designed to travel the spectrum of the city experience from it's Dutch beginnings to sites yet to come. Nothing's too touristy or too esoteric to talk about as long as it's interesting.
We will be in front of the Josephine Shaw Lowell Fountain in Bryant Park which is is in the park near 6th Avenue and 41st Street.
Be prepared for a decent (but pleasant!) walk. At the end we'll be at Rockefeller Center which has an public underground concourse with lots of food options and directly connects to the subway.
