We'll start by discussing what you'd like to get out of the day at one of Melbourne's best cafes. We'll spend 20-30 minutes discussing your skill level, experience and street photography objectives for the day. The route and locations visited will be tailored based on your objectives. If you're new to street photography and want to become more comfortable photographing people candidly or approaching strangers, then we will head for some of my favourite hotspots for finding interesting characters. Whether you want to improve your knowledge on how to build and capture street scenes, gain confidence when taking photos of people or approaching strangers to make their portrait, the day will be shaped accordingly. Whatever the route, we'll aim to cover some of the fundamentals of street photography including composition, light, shadow, geometry, scale and perspective. Don't be afraid to contact me to discuss how the day can be tailored to suit you. *Please note, this is not a ' guided city tour' where I'll take pictures of you.
Photography for me began on the streets of Melbourne, exploring and capturing the urban environments, with a focus on human life. It's what and where I know best. Street photography for me is about capturing unique moments in time that would otherwise go unnoticed. Whether you're looking to explore the city or improve your street photography skills, the time will be built around what you would like to achieve. Whether you like capturing people or integrating architecture into your shots, I know the locations most suitable. I love to share my knowledge with people of all abilities.
We'll grab a quick coffee in one of Melbourne's best cafe's, located on one of its famous laneways, Guildford Lane. From there I will share the route based on your objectives for the day. Locations included in route will be made up of a selection of my favourite places in Melbourne for street photography.
