This is inactive. I now teach at a new experience in San Jose, CA @ All Star Bullseye: https://www.airbnb.com/experiences/512503 A session will be at least 2 hours (for best experience) and will be divided into three phases. The first phase will cover safety and basic techniques. You will learn about the rules, safety precautions, and the steps to shooting correctly. The second phase will be a guided shooting session. Once you've learned all the techniques sufficiently, you will be able to shoot at your own pace. The third phase will be to apply what you've learned in games. I will also be providing continual feedback and guidance to improve your shot and technique. I have a very flexible style of teaching and will answer any questions you may have. I have my own right handed (RH) 35 pound (#) Olympic recurve bow, a beginner (RH) 20# recurve bow, a beginner (RH) 25# recurve, and a (RH) 45# compound bow. If you are left handed, I can borrow a 20#. Usually for beginners, I would recommend starting at around 20 pounds. Even if you can easily pull the bow, technique will be your main focus. If I think you are comfortable, you may try the 35# and 45# bows. As with all sports and activities, safety first :) If you have more than 2 people in your group, please message me and I will accommodate.
This is inactive. New experience here: https://www.airbnb.com/experiences/512503 My name John and I am a certified USA Archery Level 1 Instructor. I have loved archery all my life and started in 2011. I have been trained by Coach Ray in California who was a 2x gold Olympian. Like him, I really enjoy helping/guiding people to become passionate about archery. When I'm not working, I enjoy traveling and have been to 27 countries! Meeting new people and learning about different cultures/perspectives is awesome.
Bows, arrows, safety gear
In the Portland area, there are many archery ranges. The range I prefer is at Washington Park. We will begin by shooting towards the right side of the archery range where the targets are closer. This will ensure maximum success and confidence. During phase 3, we may increase the range.
最多可有2位年满18周岁的参与者参加。 If there are any minors, they will need signed guardian consent at the range. Guardians must accompany any minors who participate in this activity.
You should wear footwear that protects your toes from dust/mud. Try not to wear anything with long sleeves. If it's cold, you may take the jacket on/off in between shooting times.
