PLEASE READ CAREFULLY THE DESCRIPTION Learn how African culture, food, and music have been a part of Lisbon for centuries. During 4 hours walk, we'll explore the city of Lisbon discoverying its African unrevealed history of the enslaved. We will share about the role of Portugal in the slave trade and its colonial history. Please note this is a 4 hours walking tour that may be improving for elder people, children or people who are not used to walk that long even though the pace is very slow and Lisbon is hilly. Come and check with us the africans influence on the city and visit areas where African diaspora live and work. We may have the opportunity to listen some live african music , try African snacks and drinks, browse African shops, get in touch with the african community. Our journey will take us to an african restaurant at the end of the tour where we have lunch/dinner together ( price not included ). You may need to bring some snacks and water. Bring some cash money with you for the restaurant as they don’t take card. A warmth and conviviality moment to make new friends.
We'll stroll around some of the places rich in African presence in Lisbon, including Praça do Comércio plaza, Rossio square, and the São Bento and Bairro Alto neighborhoods.
A good camera
Wear comfortable shoes with good tread for Lisbon's slippery streets. Bring an umbrella or raincoat in the rainy season and a hat for sunny days.
