Throughout the tasting we will have 6 different wines of some top wine producers in Rheinhessen and elsewhere. That normally includes 1 sparkling wine and 5 wines. I am very flexible about white and or red wine and always going with the interest of the group. Sometimes there is a special subject of wines which I refer about. That could be a special area or region. Wine always goes with food. We will have some very high quality bread which is produced of one of the oldest bakeries in Mainz called Vetters. We will have some special dips which fit very well to the bread and which are always freshly created of the kitchen of the wine bar / restaurant Laurenz. Next to that we will have some top quality cheese from a little Swiss manufacture and some ham and salami of a high quality local producer.
My name is Philip. Im studying International Wine Business at the Hochschule Geisenheim University, which is one of the major institutions for viticulture, oenology and wine business worldwide. I am working for the winery Schätzel in Rheinhessen (which ist part of the association of the best wineries in Germany called VDP). Since the opening of the Laurenz wine bar and restaurant in 2015 I am working at that place as a bartender, sales assistant and being in charge for the wine tastings and that conduction. The wine bar and restaurant Laurenz is focused in high quality food and wine.

The wine tasting will be hold in the beautiful wine cellar of the wine bar and restaurant Laurenz in Mainz (picture attached). We will be surrounded by hundreds of wine bottles and in an environment where wine likes to age. The tasting is direct under the wine bar and its the best place for having a peaceful tasting and talks about wine.

Wine is an alcoholic beverage. We taste wine in small amounts, I always provide my guests with enough bottles of sparkling and still water. Besides that I provide spit cups for spitting out the wine.
