Let's walk through Provence! We're talking country hiking and we've found that three or four hours is a good distance. That's about 10-12 kilometres at most. We have a number of itineraries from which you can choose (let's talk!) but we can always guarantee great views, lovely countryside and a guide who won't get lost. Most of the walks start from the village of Bonnieux so we'll wind our way through ancient streets and into the countryside, either through farmland (think grapes, olives, cherry trees and, of course, the lavender in summer) or out into the forests and gorges. Or usually both. All walks are circular so you end up where you started. But we're totally flexible and if you want to walk in a different area nearby we can meet you there or take our 5-seater van. There are usually a few surprises along the way, especially if we meet some of our friends on the land who run the farms that keep this fertile area of natural park looking so good. We can provide a picnic at extra cost: either in a scenic country location, or on the stunning private terrace of our home in Bonnieux which features extraordinary 180-degree views of the valley and neighouring villages.
I'm a journalist, photographer and keen (but not too serious!) hiker and have lived in the Luberon region of Provence for years. The beautiful hilltop village of Bonnieux where I have a house is surrounded by open countryside and forest and finding those hidden trails that wind through the vineyards, cherry orchards and lavender fields has been my goal since I moved here. I love to share them with friends, as well as all I know about the area's sights including markets, restaurants, bars and natural attractions near Bonnieux, Lacoste, Menerbes, Roussillon, Goult and Gordes.
We are in the Luberon, a natural park in the heart of Provence. It's not the Cote d'Azur but a hilly region dotted with ancient villages perched on hills, and stone buildings baking in the heat of southern France. If you've read Peter Mayle's books you'll know that life is slow, good food and a connection with the countryside is paramount and that development has come to a standstill. Even so, there are quiet spots and we can take you there.
最多可有8位年满12周岁的参与者参加。 Please note there could be some hilly or rocky terrain so full mobility, a moderate level of fitness and co-ordination is required. Don't worry too much; this is Provence and there's no hurry if you need to rest.
Sensible walking shoes such as trainers or hiking boots.
When you book we'll discuss what route we'll take, if cool or warm clothing is needed and the meeting spot. Also, whether you want the picnic, transport or accommodation. Trust us. We're flexible.
