Meet in Simon’s Town to board the catamaran. No prior sailing experience is needed for the trip, and your host will show you how to operate the sails. We’ll sail from Simon's Town to Seal Island, where we’ll see dolphins, whales, and seals. Next we’ll make our way to the penguin colony at Boulder's Beach. We’ll stay overnight on the boat then sail to Cape Point to see marine life and the Cape Floristic Kingdom. Food and drinks are not provided (only coffee and tea is provided), but we’ll happily take you to the shop to buy provisions for the trip.
My name is Mark Wannenburg and I will be your skipper and host on board the sailing catamaran Ronin. I am originally from Kwa-Zulu Natal, but I have lived in Cape Town for well over 20 years. I have been sailing most of my life, mostly as a delivery skipper, Charter Captain and Yachtmaster Instructor. I have cumulatively crossed the Atlantic and Indian oceans more times than I can count on two hands and I have sailed more than 100 000 nautical miles all over the world, including the Caribbean and the Mediterranean. Through my travels and work I have sailed with hundreds of people from all over the world, which gives me a unique perspective on what makes people tick and how to ensure that they have the best time on board that they can possibly have. I look forward to meet you and show you our beautiful coastline and ocean wildlife.
