Route: Ditchling Beacon to Lewes, ending at the Pelham Arms, to enjoy lunch together feeling amazing after our shared achievement! Through running we bring people together in the beautiful outdoors, right on our doorstep. The Beacon is the third highest point on the South Downs, with incredible 360 degree views across Sussex. Explore the Downs together & get to know new people. There is something particular about the conversations you find yourself having when you are moving together apace through the countryside. Both running fanatics, we truly believe in the transformational power of running. Whether purely for fitness, to connect with new people or just to snap you out of a negative mind set - running is the best place to start. Running with others is a brilliant way to tap into a feeling of community through shared experience. Over undulating hills, we follow clearly marked trails, traversing the South Downs Way. Well trodden paths through the fields and chalky escarpments. Before we set off we’ll give you an energy boosting smoothie! Home made sugar free vegan energy balls will be provided on route. After lunch we'll all get the train back to Brighton together.
We (Shanthi and Sorcha) are very close friends who share a passion for trail running. We have both lived in Brighton for 20 years and in that time have gained a huge knowledge of the South downs. The rolling hills of the South Downs National Park’s landscapes cover 1600km2 of breathtaking and diverse views, rolling farmland and ancient woodland. We have been experienced long distance trail runners for a number of years now. We already have a running club set up and would love to extend this because socially it’s a lovely way to meet new people in a fantastic setting and keep fit too.
