You'll arrive and we will start on your folk art painting right away. While we wait for the base coat to dry, we will take a stroll around the property with my dog, visit my garden and chickens and walk along the creek. We will have a sweet iced tea, coffee or soda and a few snacks when we return to the studio and you'll begin to paint your "critter". You'll follow a template, or create your own animal, draw it, paint it, then while the paint dries, you'll pick out the bottle caps you want to hammer into your animal to finish the piece. Some guests choose to only paint and that's fine too! We will add all the framing hardware and you'll take the finished piece with you. We'll then have a fun photo shoot for your Facebook, Instagram or other social media platforms.
Artist Ande Cook is a published illustrator of children's books and greeting cards, a fine art painter and a maker of fun and funky folk art. She holds a master's degree in arts education and has 20+ years of teaching experience. You'll love working in a forested country setting (10 minutes from Blue Ridge, Ga) in an art studio beside a noisy mountain stream. This is an indoor/outdoor day: you'll paint inside an open studio but do your finish work outside. You'll also take breaks so you can enjoy the property while paint dries. all the art supplies
You will love the setting for our art project! It is a very private lush and beautifully maintained country property. A large and lovely mountain stream runs through it. There's a big open field, forested areas, an organic garden, chickens, and a darling well-behaved dog. It is located just 10 minutes from downtown Blue Ridge Ga, and is only 2 miles from the west entrance of the Cohutta Wilderness.
最多可有5位年满10周岁的参与者参加。 Some art experience helpful but not necessary.
We will use acrylic paint; it will not wash out so don't wear nice clothing. Wear comfortable shoes for walking on property. A hat may come in handy on sunny days.
