I teach classes at a 90-year-old hanok, where I have lived for more than 20 years. A natural material that I usually work with is indigo, the only natural dye that has a blue color. Indigo dyeing methods were inscribed in the representative list of intangible cultural heritage by UNESCO. I will have scarves, eco bags, and t-shirts, and you'll be able to experience the fun of natural indigo dyeing.
This workshop will take place in my home in Bukchon Hanok Village. Located in the Jongno District of Seoul, the area has been inhabited by aristocrats since the Joseon Dynasty and it's a nice spot to walk around.
最多可有10位年满8周岁的参与者参加。 I have a puppy, but I will keep it tied up when guests visit. Please wear or bring comfortable, dark clothes as we'll be working with dye.
Please note we'll conduct the workshop in the hanok yard. If there is severe rain, we'll cancel the experience.
