When the snow gets deep in the high forests of the Tyrolian mountains, the best way to get off the cleared tracks and explore is with snow shoes. As a trained guide, I can lead you through forests of snow laden trees following the tracks of foxes, snow hares and deer. Every mountain has it's story and I take great pleasure in sharing my knowledge of the landscape we're traveling through. Most tours have a break at one of the many mountain huts in the area, and after enjoying the Tyrolian hospitality, usually it is possible to make a speedy way back down the mountain on sledges. If you would like the experience specifically tailored to the needs of your group (for examples families), don't hesitate to get in touch. I can make suggestions and often accommodate dates as well.
I am an experienced hiking and nature guide and just love sharing my enthusiasm with nature lovers from all over. Trained and certified by the "Tiroler Bergsportverband" I am trained in mountain safety, orienteering, first aid and I am also a certified nature guide and just love telling you all about plants and wildlife around us. I walk and guide all year mostly in the Alps but also on Trails throughout Europe.
Snow shoes and hiking sticks
We will be hiking in an area called "Feldringer Böden". On winding paths through the forest we will explore traces of animals in the snow and as soon as we leave the forest, amazing views will take our breath away. Still happens to me every time :-). We also make a lunch stop at one of those cozy mountain huts for some local food. If conditions demand a change of route I will adjust to make sure you get the most out of your experience.
Hiking boots ... ankle high
Good to moderate fitness is necessary, but I will adjust the level of the hike to the individual group. We will meet in Ötztal Bahnhof and then drive to our starting point.
