I'll give you an overview of various printmaking techniques, and you'll design and carve a linoleum block or stamp. We'll have fun printing on different types of paper, and applying your designs on projects like greeting cards or art prints.
I'm the resident artist and owner of Camp Cactus Studio, a creative place to make art, take classes and shop for handmade goods. A career artist, teacher, and maker, I studied graphic design and photography in college and have worked as a designer, illustrator, and art teacher for over twenty years. I love to share the infectious magic of making things by hand, and light the creative spark in everyone I meet! A longtime member of the Portland art scene, I've hosted yearly sales at Camp Cactus featuring cool stuff handmade by local artists since 1992. Here's my website: campcactuspdx.com

We'll experiment with ink and paper in my 100 year old, cozy backyard studio and garden, located in Portland's leafy-green Grant Park neighborhood.
All materials are provided...just bring your creative self!
Working with ink can be a little messy. I'll provide aprons, but it's a good idea to wear clothes you don't mind getting dirty.
