Petak Sembilan is Jakarta's Chinatown. We called it a Pecinan. What makes it special is the history and culture that may be different from other Chinatown in another country. The neighbourhood is dense with stores, many of which have been in business for generations. When you come here, you will find a red glowing temple, some historical buildings, and a lot of Indonesian-Chinese local food. In this trip, you have three main activities: 1. Walking through the traditional market where you will taste recommended Indonesian-Chinese food. 2. Visit cultural spots while I tell you the stories behind each spot 3. Visit three temples. Some of your payment for this trip will be distributed to the temple as a donation. *If the experience is not opened on the date you want, please give me a request by message*
Hello, my name is Evi. I was born in Jakarta, and now I live in Bogor for six years. I have travelled a lot around Indonesia. Ask me if you want to know about the most recommended beach, diving spot, Indonesian gastronomy, or anything you want to know about my country. After I graduated from the Faculty of Humanities for Indonesian Studies, I started my career as a teacher. Now, I decided to resign and be a host of Airbnb Experiences for fulltime. I really enjoy my job as a local expert host now while I am pursuing a scholarship for my master degree next year.
