On arriving at Basecamp Barefoot Mallorca, you'll have some time to settle in, enjoy a drink whilst absorbing the peace and tranquility of the natural surroundings. Taking in the vista of dense forest and mountain views, with only the sounds of the wind in the trees and birds overhead calling. MovNat is a functional and natural movement method that teaches us, or reminds us, of the fundamental human movements we would still be using if we lived in a more natural environment. We will start with a mindful breathing and simple centring practice which will help us attune and be present in our natural environment. The practice will build from the foundational ground movements and skills, rolling, crawling, balancing, jumping, throwing, climbing. These skills are built progressively at each person's pace and level throughout the class to the more complex skills. Once learned these movement skills allow us to move through any environment with confidence and ease. MovNat expands our movement repertoire, brings movement range and freedom back to the body. It’s a fun practice that anyone can do.
I am a natural and functional movement trainer and guide, working within the different disciplines of MovNat, Natural Running, Anatomy in Motion and Yoga. I am passionate about teaching the fundamental principles and foundational movement skills for strength and mobility, to bring balance back to the body, and discover our optimal movement potential, connect with our natural surroundings, and have fun in the process. Level 2 Certified MovNat trainer, amongst many other movement certifications: Gary Ward AiM, Lee Saxby Natural Running Coach, Yoga Instructor, Embodied Yoga Principles.
Natural spring water is provided.
We will be based outdoors within and around the Barefoot Mallorca basecamp, set in the stunning natural surroundings of the Tramuntana Mountains. Basecamp is fully equipped with an 'outdoor playground'. Large yoga deck, monkey bars, wall, jumping station, balance and vault beams, vault boxes, weights and medicine balls. It is a safe place to learn the skills of how to move as nature intended. Rest assured you will be well looked after and guided
Wear clothing you can move with ease, and to keep you cool/warm/dry depending on weather. Minimal shoes are a bonus.
You don't need to be super fit to partake in this activity, but please tell me if you have any previous injuries, health or physical limitations.
