As a full time nyc street shooter, I will share with you the tips and tricks of the shooting street in nyc. I will also take you to the best corners and strips the city has to offer that were once prowled by legends such as Garry Winogrand, Joel Meyerowitz, and Wegee. This experience includes shooting on the streets of New York City; as well as the discussion, analysis, and critique of photographs. I will your critique photographs individually as well as give feedback on concepts for you to explore that fit your personal style. We will also stop for coffee and snacks giving us an opportunity to talk about street photography. The day will end with a critique session over dinner or drinks. Key Highlights Include: - Capture spontaneous and candid moments with Jorge, as he guides you through the streets and corners of busy NYC. - Shoot side-by-side with Jorge to develop your “street photography” eye as he demonstrates various techniques. - Receive one on one feedback on the street and on the work produced with a one on one critique. This experience is intended for any photographer interested in walking outside and photographing people with some basic photography knowledge.
Jorge Garcia is a NYC based freelance photographer. He spends most of his time wondering the sidewalk looking for interesting spontaneous moments. He always shoots candidly and rarely speaks to the people he captures. Influences include Gary Winogrand, Matt Stuart, Gus Powell, Aaron Berger, and Andrei Wagner to name a few. In 2015, he founded the NYC Street Photography Collective (NYC-SPC), a 501(c)3, as a way for local street photographers to meet and share their thoughts on the genre as an alternative to web based communities.
