Our guided tour will visit 3 rooftop bars in Asheville in one afternoon. Van Transportation included. We will be at each rooftop bar 50-60 minutes. There will be time to get drinks/small plate fare and enjoy the history and views at each location. We show historical photos on this tour. Our first rooftop bar stop is The Montford (Hyatt Place) on Haywood St. I’ll share the history of the historic Montford neighborhood and it’s creation and we’ll also drive down Montford Ave. in the historic district. Our second stop will be WXYZ (Aloft Hotel) on Biltmore Ave. Electric street cars once ran on this street , then named Main St, in the late 1800’s into the 1900’s. Our last stop will be Capella on 9 (AC Hotel) on Broadway St. This corner of the city has had previous hotels on this site dating back to the early 1800’s. Our tour will end here, which is where we started with a pick up for the tour. *Must be at least 21 yrs old to take the tour.
I’m founder and owner of Asheville Rooftop Bar Tours. I love sharing the history of our city from a rooftop perspective. I’m a native of western NC and an Airbnb Superhost in Asheville. I’m also recently retired after 38 years with the USPS. As an Airbnb host, I have a unique insight into what travelers from around the world are looking for when coming to this area. I love sharing with folks the things that make Asheville so uniquely Asheville! Having a rooftop bar tour experience brings in the history, the hand crafted drink and vibrant food scene, sightseeing and best of all: a driver!
