A Greek cooking and dining experience shared with a small group of participants at Lia's Kitchen in Cardiff. (maximum of 6) You will be introduced to manouri cheese, Petimezi (grape molasses), Greek Balsamic olive oil and a special extra virgin olive oil. You will learn to prepare a seasonal Greek pie and Lia's infamous Fava dip. You will make Melomakarona cookies, a heavenly Christmas cookie dipped in a spiced honey syrup which is a seasonal craze all over Greece before and during Christmas. The workshop uses carefully sourced artisanal products from Greece and the UK. It includes an appetizer and hot drink on arrival, a 2.5hr cooking workshop and tasting, printed recipes and a surprise gift. At the end of the meal participants will share a meal with everythinkg they have prepared during the workshop. Participants are welcome to bring their own bottle of wine for the meal section of the workshop. We are not licensed to serve alcohol. The location of the workshop will be disclosed after booking. We are based in East Cardiff near Roath Park. This workshop involves the preparation of dishes which include gluten, dairy and nuts (we may be able to exclude nuts for your meal).
I am Lia and I run Lia's Kitchen from home, an ethical food venture which focusses on low impact food and using food as a connector between people and communities. I am inspired by global kitchens and Greek cuisine (Greece being my birthland). I have run pop-up dinners and workshops, low impact and food waste reduction events and cultural integration projects for the last 5 years. I run eating and cooking experiences from home where I welcome new friends to cook together and share our stories through food.
A hot drink and snack on arrival. A meal that will prepared during the class by all participants.
You will visit Lia's Kitchen at my home where you will enjoy and intimate cooking and eating experience with a small group of participants. I am based in the heart of Cardiff with easy access through public transport.
最多可有2位年满18周岁的参与者参加。 I am not licensed to serve alcohol but can recommend a local independent shop and wines to pair with the class. However please note that we will not be drinking during the cooking but only for the last part of the cooking…
We have a cat which is removed from the area of the workshop during the eating experience but if you have a severe cat allergy this experience might not be for you. This is a home run venture.
