On offer is a jam-packed immersion into the unique bushland of Western Australia that does not require hours of driving but is conveniently located in the Darling Range only 35 minutes east from the Perth CBD or 20 minutes from the airport. After arriving at the Rural Landscape property you will be guided through a 30 minute bush walk highlighting the natural features of the environment and interesting facts about First Nation people and colonial settlement. The bush track passes through an abandoned quarry that provided stone to build the roads for the foundation of the state. A moderate level of fitness is required to go up slight inclines but several stops along the way are included for photography. You will be rewarded upon return with light refreshments of Billy Tea and pumpkin scones, which was traditionally enjoyed after a day on the land. To conclude the experience you will create your own souvenir canvas print inspired by your walk. Trenton Harris, a contemporary landscape artist will demonstrate the screen-printing process, with templates available to form the basis of your print. He will provide hands-on guidance to complete your personalised canvas, showing how to creatively apply a choice of paint colour to represent your experience in the Helena Valley bushland.
I am an education expert with 20 years teaching about the environment and art. My goal is to inspire adventurous travellers with the sights, sounds and scents of this unique Western Australian bushland setting. The experience starts at a Helena Valley Rural Landscape Living property which is home to various indigenous plant and animal species and is accredited as “Land for Wildlife” by the Department of Parks and Wildlife. With a proven record as a super host to 1000 guests since 2016, I look forward to extending my hospitality to morning tea and sharing a quintessential Australian refreshment of Billy tea and home-made pumpkin scones under the gum trees after returning from our 30 minute bush walk. Trenton Harris, a qualified Art Teacher and successful exhibiting landscape artist, will be your mentor for the fun souvenir painting.

We take a secluded bush track from the property not accessible by vehicles and pass through an abandoned quarry significant to WA's development. On the way you will stop to view and photograph the panoramic Perth skyline. This landscape as well as the unique flora and fauna of the track will inspire the art workshop held back in the studio where we first meet. The experience takes place in all weather but the order may change to suit conditions.
