We’ll start with a quick tour of the workshop plus some health & safety issues of working with glass. Then you’ll learn about ‘cutting’ glass and you can practise on some scrap pieces so you will have the confidence to cut out a variety of shapes. We’ll then move onto the design stage - if you have already given some thought to a design, you can sketch your plans roughly on paper. If you need some inspiration, I will help you look through ideas to find a design that appeals. Then we move onto the practical side of cutting out the glass pieces that fit together, so you’ll then need to create a 'cartoon' (glass-speak for an accurate scale drawing of your panel's design). After choosing your glass from my stock you will then cut, grind and foil the pieces. After making a frame, inserting the pieces and soldering all the joints, you will have a glass panel to take home with you. NOTE: There is an additional charge of between £15 and £25 for materials, depending on the size of panel you make (24x18cm costs £20), which is calculated at cost, and payable on the day. .
I love working with glass to create windows and skylights where imagination is the only limiting factor. I have sold several of my windows to neighbours who have been able to see their beauty in situ. I have attended many classes working with glass and, as a qualified teacher, I find that I can explain everything you need to know in a clear and logical way. I like showing people how to make things from glass and sharing my enthusiasm with them. The important thing about the experience is to enjoy yourself (and also to make a beautiful panel.)

My workshop/studio is separate from the house and has everything you will need to create art glass. The room is painted white inside and out and has lots of windows to show off the coloured glass. There is a glass grinder, a light box, glass cutting tools and safety equipment.
最多可有3位年满14周岁的参与者参加。 You do not need any prior knowledge or experience of working with glass as I will cover everything you need to know.
