Our walking tour starts at Brussels Central station and subsequently showcases a number of initiatives in the heart of the city, before heading out to less known Canal area in Molenbeek and the North District. Despite their notorious name, you will be surprised which amazing initiatives are taking place in these neighbourhoods. You'll see nature in the city, urban revitalisation, the circular economy in its best form, urban farming, and much more. With other words, Sustainable Brussels is your guide to the green face of Brussels. Elias & Alex will connect you with the heroes of the urban sustainability scene and show you places you can't visit on your own. Let our tour inspire you to turn your own talents in a motor for positive change, while exploring the Belgian capital in a new and fun way!
Hi there! We are Adrian and Elias, a duo with a green heart and passionate about our city. Elias is a climate change blogger and renewable energy engineer, Adrian a zero plastics activist and marine biologist. We think it is time to show locals and visitors of Brussels alike the many great projects making the life of citizens greener, cleaner, and more enjoyable. On our walk, we show you initiatives that will inspire you to be part of the change to a more sustainable future: urban farms, zero waste shops, circular economy startups... You'll discover places the tourist office doesn't even know about!
Sustainable Brussels is an initiative under BrusselsTogether ASBL, a platform for the new generation of associations transparent by design. Our goal is to turn Brussels into a platform for citizen-driven innovation. Each initiative has its own collective that can receive money independently and all the accounting is fully transparent.
